Business internet for manufacturing

A plant does not need a faster line so much as a line that does not stop, and that uploads as fast as it downloads. That is a different product from the one most units are sold.

  • 1:1 uncontendedThe bandwidth is yours
  • SymmetricUpload matches download
  • 99.5% uptime SLAWith a 4 hr fault response target
  • Surveyed per siteA free survey, then a written quote

The problem

What actually goes wrong on a plant connection

Six complaints we hear from manufacturing units, in the order they usually arrive.

A fault costs a shift, not a bill

The line is rarely the expensive part. An idle shift while somebody is told to restart the router is.

Upload is the bottleneck, not speed

CCTV to a head office, Tally and ERP sync, e-invoices and e-way bills all go out. A 200/20 line gives you a tenth of its headline number in the direction you actually need.

A consumer line sold as a business one

Contended bandwidth sags when the estate around you gets busy, which is shift change, and the hour your dispatch has to go out.

Plant, warehouse and office are three networks

Often kilometres apart and on different operators, so nothing on one site can see anything on another without going out to the internet.

Your customer audits your connection

An OEM vendor portal, EDI or a quality upload is your customer’s system on your line. Their deadline does not move because yours was down.

Nobody on the floor can diagnose it

A plant has no network engineer, so the fault has to be somebody else’s job, on somebody else’s clock, at 2am on a night shift.

The answer

Sized against the plant, not an average

What each requirement turns into once it is surveyed.

What the plant needsWhat we put behind it
Production that cannot pause for a faultA 1:1 uncontended circuit, a 99.5% uptime SLA in writing and a 4 hr fault response target, including on the night shift.
CCTV, e-invoicing and ERP leaving the plantSymmetric bandwidth: the upload path is the same size as the download path, so the direction you use is the one you paid for.
Plant, warehouse and office as one networkPoint-to-point links between your own sites, so site-to-site traffic never touches the public internet.
A machine or camera that must be reachableA /29 static IP block, and 24×7 NOC monitoring so the link is watched rather than reported by you.
A unit on a MIDC estate, at the edge of a mapA free site survey that answers the only question that matters, what it takes to reach your address, before anything is quoted.

How it fits together

Plant, warehouse and office as one network

Your sites on one side, what they have to reach on the other, and our network in between.

  • Plant or factory
  • Warehouse
  • Branch offices
Business network
  • Head office
  • Cloud and ERP
  • CCTV and IIoT
One network

Multiple possibilities

  • 1:1 uncontended on every leg
  • Site-to-site traffic stays off the public internet
  • Static IPs where a device must be reachable
  • One NOC watching all of it, 24×7

Use cases

Manufacturing runs on these already

Eight things a plant connection carries that a home one was never sized for.

ERP, MES and Tally

Production and stock records leaving the floor as they happen.

GST e-invoicing and e-way bills

Uploads the dispatch gate genuinely waits on.

CCTV to a head office

Continuous upload from every camera, all shift.

IIoT and machine telemetry

Condition monitoring and downtime logging.

OEM vendor and EDI portals

Your customer’s system, running on your line.

Warehouse and weighbridge

Scanners and dispatch that stop the gate when they stop.

Two plants, one network

A second unit that behaves like a room in the first.

Remote access to the floor

Seeing the plant without driving to it on a Sunday.

How it works

From enquiry to a running line

Four steps, and what each one settles.

  1. 01Tell us the siteThe address, what the connection has to carry, and whether there is more than one location.
  2. 02We survey the addressHow far our fiber is from your door, and what the route to it involves. Free, and no obligation.
  3. 03A written quotePriced against that route rather than against an average, with the lead time and the SLA on it.
  4. 04Install, test, monitorWe build it, test end to end, and the link joins the 24×7 NOC.
Questions

Questions manufacturers ask

Can you reach my unit on a MIDC estate?
That is exactly what the free survey answers. We build and own the fiber rather than reselling somebody else’s, so the question is the distance from our nearest route to your gate, which is a measurement, not a policy. Where we reach lists the cities we are already in.
How much bandwidth does a plant actually need?
Less than most quotes assume, but symmetric. Count the upload: cameras are continuous, ERP and e-invoicing are bursty, and a CAD or tooling file to a customer is the spike. A 1:1 circuit sized on that is usually smaller and steadier than a large contended one.
Can you connect two plants to each other?
Yes. That is a point-to-point link, and the traffic between your sites never touches the public internet. Multi-site "connectivity sets out how it is built and priced.
What happens at 2am on a night shift?
The link is watched from a 24×7 NOC, so a fault is usually seen before it is reported. The SLA carries a 4 hr fault response target and a named contact rather than a general helpline. What the SLA commits to.
Do we have to remove our existing line?
No. Plenty of plants keep the old connection as a failover behind the new one, which is the cheapest redundancy available to a single site. Backup internet covers how that is configured.
What does it cost?
We do not publish a rate card, because a circuit is priced against the route to your address rather than an average. The survey is free, the quote is written, and the lead time is on it.
